Let’s face it; not everyone is a natural born leader. Some of us just have to go through a course of leadership development training in order to modify our personality and behavior to cater to a certain crowd. However, this doesn’t mean that we can never become inspirational or looked-up to by those around us.

First and foremost, make sure that you are always part of the solution rather than part of the problem. If a problem does occur, don’t throw it on someone else to take care of –be part of the solution and help resolve it. Furthermore, learn to listen more rather than trying to be heard by others. Listen with the intention of learning more from others and allow yourself to generate ideas by understanding the perspectives of other individuals. In order to become inspirational, you should also try to focus on work that truly matters. Sort out your priorities and focus on the higher ones. If possible, diminish tasks from your life that are irrelevant and won’t help you progress further.

Finally, and most importantly, in order to be an inspirational leader, focus and discuss the strengths of individuals around you, whether they are your employees, friends or family members. Don’t obsess over someone’s faults or weaknesses – we all have them.
